GoClick.com - First One
Thougt will post something useful :-) I will be testing various Pay Per Click
Advertising networks, first one is GoClick.com, I will be posting my test campaign results tomorrow. Made a test $10 spend there.
New Google Images Search Look
I was “Googling” for some winter images yesterday evening and noticed that Google made some changes. Do you like them? I don’t. Why? Now when I want to see what resolution image is need to place mouse on that image in order to see.
This is unforgivable, why spend as twice as much time to find some nice pics? I’d better start using PicSearch from now or Yahoo! Images Search.

Sorry Guys.
Is it worth to get link from .edu or .gov?
Of course, every link helps you.
However, most of webmasters are still looking to get links from domains which ends .gov or .edu. In my point of view there is no difference between .gov and .com or so on. Some says that .org domain would rank higher than .com for example, but that’s false.
Why? Because it’s just another domain.
They can give you boost for sure (as any other quality link) but that’s not cause it’s .gov or .edu.
People are tend to link more to such a sites, so they have higher page rank, most of thoose domains are very old, and as we all know search engines (especially “Google“) loves high quality links. That’s why you get boost. No magic at all, just another high page rank link. But if site don’t have many links or even PR0 then there will be no boost.
WordPress 2.1 Ella - Released
Fantastic news, new WordPress 2.1 Ella - released. 2.1 includes over 550 bug fixes! I’m definatelly gonna update my blog this night to latest wordpress version.
You can find changelog in the following page.
Yahoo! Search Index Update
If you have noticved any position changes in Yahoo! Search it’s due their updates.
Wikipedia - Don’t Pass PageRank Anymore
Wikipedia replaced all links with nofollow, that means you won’t get any boost for you pagerank if you have link in wikipedia.
This might slow down spammers a bit, but won’t stop for sure. It’s a great move from wikipedia side. It’s still good to have link in wikipedia which gives you some free traffic.
“Go” Google! Adsense TOS Changes
Oh well… It was good till it lasted. Google do whatever they want, and their newest TOS change sounds like this:
“In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.”
That’s right. Althought I don’t use Adsense a lot but it’s big headache to other publishers, so what will you do? Stop using Adsense and change it to other one? Most of them don’t have any other choice, that’s sad.
WikiSeek.com - Wikipedia Search Engine
Althought this is NOT Wikipedia product but there are many comments about it. I’ve tried it too and if it would be possible to describe WikiSeek using one word, it would be ”ugly”. Too much sponsor links, no user friendly at all and so on. It is only a BETA but won’t ever use it again. If you want to search Wikipedia, search via Wikipedia or Google, this is the best way I guess.
Two Different Versions of Search Results
Today I was checking mine search engine positions in “Google” and noticed strange thing.
First time I got:
Results 1 - 30 of about 37,800,000 for free skins
And the second one (after refreshed page):
Results 1 - 30 of about 30,000,000 for free skins
Then 37,800,000 again and so on… I was wondering if they are updating something or…
Well anyways, I am #24 now with FREE SKINS keyword, getting better and better ![]()
Pay Per Click (PPC) Fraud Supported By “Big Guys”?
Thought I will write something “from the other view” thah my previous PPC Cheaters post.
I am just curious why so many big guys allows a bit of fraud traffic? I’ve seen many webmasters who are sending this kind of traffic and receives payments with no chargebacks.
So I see only two reasons for that:
- a) Their “monitoring team” have no idea what is fraud traffic. Give me an url and I will tell you if that site will send fraud or real traffic, no idea why “the team” can’t.
- b) They do allow a bit of it to earn more cash, but not too much so advertisers would be happy.
I am not talking about all of course. 7Search.com for example got great team and they can hunt fraud pretty well.
For legal reasons I won’t list guys who allows a bit of fraud, but it’s good to know that some of them accept that.
